What is Wool Quality Number?
The wool quality number is normally used to indicate the higher worsted count that can be spun using given wool fibres.
It is probably more accurately interpreted as implying a certain fineness of fibre. This has arisen owing to the importance of fineness as a factor affecting the spinning quality.
The highest number is given to the finest wool and lowest to the coarser wool.
